Ben Daniel Crenshaw is one of the leading professional golfers of the United States. Born in the US city of Austin, Ben Crenshaw attended the Austin High School and studied at the University of Texas before starting his professional career as a golfer. As a student he went on playing golf at the school and at the university and the first game of Crenshaw’s rookie season was won by him in 1973. Crenshaw was also the winner of The Masters of 1984, an important championship of golf.

Ben Crenshaw had to suffer from Grave’s Disease in the mid 80s but he continued his brilliant career as a golfer and won several other major events like The Masters of 1995 and also finished 19th at the PGA Tour. Other than the PGA Tour, Crenshaw also won many professional events after that such as the team and individual titles in the 1988 World Cup of Golf.
Popular widely as one of the greatest putters, this famous golfer received golf lessons from Harvey Penick, his instructor who trained him to practice easy and flat strokes on the golf courses. This permitted Ben to be a master golfer at any type of greens like those present at the Augusta National Golf Club. After a week of Penick’s death in 1995, Ben Crenshaw was declared the winner of The Masters. Ben is engaged as a partner with the firm Bill Croore & Crenshaw since the year 1986.
Ben Crenshaw played for four teams of Ryder Cup and was the captain of the 1999 team. He was awarded with the Bob Jones Award in 1991, this award being the highest honor presented by the renowned United States Golf Association for exemplary sportsmanship in the game of golf. At present working as a reputed golf course designer, this famous golfer was introduced into the prestigious World Golf Hall of Fame in the year 2002. Ben was also awarded with the title of Kappa Alpha Order Sportsman of the Year in 2006.
