Golf is one of the most popular games in the world, the history of golf being traced back to 1456 when it was played in Edinburgh at the Bruntsfield Links. Since then till today golf has been known worldwide for being one of the major sports played across all over world. Presence of numerous golf courses found in most of the countries has also made golf one of the regularly played games in the world. Over the years, golf has also popularized several Famous Golfers including Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Bobby Johns, Nick Faldo, Ben Crenshaw, Tiger Woods, Johnny Miller and Jack Nicklaus.

Arnold Palmer, the popular American golfer won the prestigious PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1998. His name was introduced to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. As a student Arnold got admitted to the Wake Forest University on a golf scholarship and after working for the Coast Guard for 3 years started his professional career on golf. In 1954 he was declared the winner of the US Amateur Championship. He won various other major championships and took retirement on 13th October in 2006. Arnold Palmer is considered till today as one of the finest golfers in the history of professional golf for men.
Widely popular as “The Merry Mex” or “Supermex”, the American golfer Lee Trevino is another great golf player of the world. Working for his living since the age of five, Lee practicing golf at a very young age when he was working as a caddie at a local golf course in Dallas. He joined the United States Marine Corps when was seventeen and during his service there he played several golf games with the Marine Corps officers. Some of the major championships won by Lee on his professional career as a golfer include PGA Championship, the Canadian Open, the US Open, The Open Championship, the Western Open and the Ryder Cup. Other Famous Golfers in the history of golf also had illustrious careers as professional golfers, some of them being still dedicated to their game of golf.
